ABOUT your doula

Hello all!

My name is Olivia Martinez and I am a birth advocate. My doula journey began in 2017. I was trained through DONA International and the Brilliant Birth Academy. I am a birth doula, a placenta specialist, and a mama who loves supporting other mamas on this incredible journey. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion for women's health, pregnancy, and babies. I was told at a very young age I would have trouble getting pregnant, so I gave my all to my clients starting in 2017. I figured I would pour all my love for this into others if I couldn't pour it into my own family. I worked as a childless doula for 3 years and absolutely loved it. I have worked with so many amazing families and fell in love with my work. Then I finally got pregnant with my daughter! After the birth of my daughter, I fell even more in love with birth and my work. I didn't think I could love it anymore, and after this transformation I went through, I knew this work was where I needed to be. I myself experienced a birth that didn't exactly go as planned. Feel free to read about it here! After this experience, I knew I really wanted to make a difference in the birth world. Before the birth of my daughter, I knew in my heart that I was good at this job and that supporting families is what I am meant to do. But after my birth experience, I learned that this kind of support and care should go much further than it ever has before. I didn't want the care I was giving to stop after birth. Just because your pregnancy is over doesn't mean the support should end. Parenting takes a village, and this is when it matters the most. Pregnancy, birth, postpartum, motherhood, it is all so challenging yet so rewarding. But one thing is for sure is that women are not meant to do it alone. When a mother feels heard, loved and supported, she can do anything. The power of a mother is a strong one, but the power of a knowledgeable mother is one that can conquer all.

Above all, I want my mamas to have a positive experience when entering into motherhood. It is challenging, but oh so fulfilling. It's often said that women need to find their power, but I think we all have it in us already. Sometimes we just need a little help to find it. I am here to help you see how spowerful you are and to be a hand to hold on this magical journey.

It would be an honor to serve you and your family during this precious time. In whatever way support means to you, I'd be happy to help.
